Unfortunately, I have a feeling that this is the last photo of the school’s exterior that I have.  In prior posts, I failed to mention that back in the early 1990’s, Soesterberg American High School had two wings that were slated for bulldozing.  The above picture was “The Forbidden Zone.”  That is, up until 1991, the classes were still used.  If you walked down that hall, to the front of the building, there was the original main entrance — which stood in a viewable distance from Camp New Amsterdam’s main gate.  (That main entrance was also next to the typing classroom.)  The hallway picture I posted a few weeks ago — I believe that wing was totally abandoned and unused one, as that’s where the mildew and rodent problem was at it’s worst.

Wow, how sad. I used to hang out there between classes. When I started school there in 1982 this section we new, I think only 1-2 yrs old. The photo you took of the hallway was one I traveled daily. It makes my heart sad.
